Reliable nodal seismograph source with high sensitivity, real-time monitoring, accurate data collection, and advanced seismic solutions.

Recently, the UGL-3C nodal seismograph system independently developed by Guowei Electronics was deployed in Kenya, where it successfully completed installation and network operation. The system has successfully recorded multiple local seismic events, demonstrating strong technological capabilities and providing reliable support for the construction of the earthquake observation network in East Africa.

Kenya is located in the central section of the eastern branch of the East African Rift Valley, one of the most geologically active regions in the world. With frequent tectonic rifting and volcanic–seismic activities, it serves as an important natural laboratory for studying geodynamics and earthquake mechanisms. However, due to limitations in local infrastructure development, the region has long faced technical challenges such as sparse seismic monitoring stations and delayed data transmission. The limited availability and unstable quality of observation data have made it difficult to meet the requirements of earthquake early warning and scientific research.

The deployment of Guowei Electronics’ UGL-3C nodal seismographs provides a breakthrough solution to this challenge. Through the high-density deployment of nodal seismograph arrays, the system enables the acquisition of massive amounts of detailed seismic data through an approach combining “dense observation + real-time data transmission,” providing more refined monitoring capabilities for scientific research and seismic hazard monitoring. Since deployment, the system has successfully captured multiple local seismic events and transmitted high-quality waveform data in real time, fully demonstrating its real-time response capability and accuracy in regional earthquake monitoring.

The achievements mentioned above not only further validate the real-time performance and reliability of the UGL-3C nodal seismograph in regional earthquake monitoring, but also mark the practical recognition of Guowei Electronics’ 4G real-time transmission technology in the East African Rift Valley, a globally significant region for geological research. Through monitoring stations deployed in key areas, researchers can remotely access real-time seismic waveforms and conduct data analysis, providing significant value for earthquake activity early warning, disaster impact assessment, and deep structural research in the region.

Currently, the mobile seismic observation network composed of Guowei Electronics’ UGL-3C nodal seismographs continues to operate stably in Kenya, with its stability, reliability, and flexibility highly recognized by customers. In the future, Guowei Electronics will continue working with global research partners and disaster prevention organizations to build stronger protection networks for more earthquake-prone regions through advanced seismic monitoring technologies. By using the “eyes of science and technology” to observe the Earth’s movements and leveraging Chinese innovation to support global earthquake safety, Guowei Electronics is committed to contributing to worldwide disaster monitoring and prevention efforts.

A nodal seismograph is an advanced seismic monitoring device designed for high-precision earthquake data collection. With compact size, flexible deployment, and real-time transmission capabilities, it provides reliable waveform data for geological research, seismic monitoring, and disaster prevention applications.
