Yao Huajian
(Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences, MIT, USA)
Professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Earth and Space Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China
Vice Chairman of the China Earthquake Society and Executive Director of the Anhui Geophysical Society. Received the Outstanding Youth Fund Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2021 and the first batch of Excellent Youth Fund Projects in 2012. Received the 16th China Youth Science and Technology Award in 2020. Mainly engaged in research in the fields of seismic wave imaging, lithospheric structure and deformation, major earthquake rupture processes, seismic array technology, and geophysical joint inversion, we have achieved a series of innovative research results with international influence in background noise imaging, Qinghai Tibet Plateau structure and deformation, construction of multi-scale common velocity models in Sichuan Yunnan region, and rupture laws of major earthquakes in subduction zones. More than 140 academic papers have been published (including NSR, PNAS, Nature Geoscience, Nature Comm., JGR, GRL, GJI, PEPI and other papers), with over 4000 SCI citations, and selected as a highly cited Chinese scholar in the field of Elsevier geophysics in 2021.
Li Junlun
(PhD in Geophysics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, and Geophysics Researcher at Shell International Petroleum Exploration and Development Company)
Professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Earth and Space Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China
Obtained a PhD in Geophysics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States in 2013. I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at MIT from September to October 2013, and then joined Shell International Petroleum Exploration and Development Company (Houston) as a research geophysicist. During this period, I made significant contributions to the study of hydraulic fracturing microseismicity and oil and gas field induced earthquakes. My research results have been widely applied and have achieved important economic and social value, receiving numerous awards. We are currently committed to: (1) research on microseismicity and induced earthquakes, (2) applying passive source methods to oil and gas and mineral resource exploration, (3) applying offset and full wave imaging methods in exploration earthquakes to large-scale geophysical research, (4) the application of deep learning in data processing and inversion, (5) and the development of new seismic instruments and equipment.
